Re: ****VA Rally reporting thread.***
Just a take from what I saw.
- VCDL's organizational skills were impressive. Not only did they fund all the port-a-potties, an often overlooked issue, but they handled a lot of the logistics, got people handing out pamphlets, etc.
- The crowd grew and grew. At one point a few of us were outside the street protest area to eat/drink water and people were still arriving (around 11:45 am); we had to give quite a few of them directions in to the capitol square area
- I was not witness to any hostility sans some assumed ANTIFA types pushing and shoving through the crowd. It was pretty easy to pick out the usurpers and ignore them but there were very few.
- One Richmond PD cop told a person in our group to remove his magazine and then drove off in his cruiser but no one did.
- Every other interaction with the police was actually very, very positive to the point we BSed with a Richmond cop for nearly 20 minutes about everything.
- I would say a majority of the people who went in to the fenced off area were Pro-2nd folks and the line to get in was long and they cut off the entries at 10,000.
- There was a bus staged in a blocked off street where a politician looking guy would come/go. The bus had blacked out windows and there was a section of barricades within the barricades to lead whoever was on the bus to the capitol entrance; my assumption is that these were the Every town or Mom's Demand group that came and they were "protected."
- Marched out around 1:30 and missed the rabble rousers who showed up; this appeared to be by design with the VCDL speakers ending their lobbying at this time meaning many pro gun folks left leaving space for bad actors to show up and try to make a scene.
- The people of VA were awesome and I can't tell you how many non-gun carrying people were cheering me on for carrying an AR and wearing a battle belt with a pistol...and thanking me for coming.Run

So to be a bit negative.
In the run up to this rally, similar to the Pittsburgh rally, the instate 2A lobby group was crying and fussing about open carry of rifles and not wearing suits.
Can we finally, once and for all, get the fuck over that shit?Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.

Re: ****VA Rally reporting thread.***
And to think... If we just told our children the answer to “Why is the government there?” / “What is the purpose of our government?” This ralley wouldn’t have been needed at all most likely. The answer I submit - The single purpose of our government- It only has ONE reason for being in existence. TO PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE OF THE CONSTITUENTS. Our government structure has no other purpose than to SOMETHING that promotes the general welfare of ALL constituents at that level - be it local, state or federal. By gun- grabbing our defensive arms the government is opening the constituents to harm from the criminal element that they have zero duty to protect us from. We know that, so do they but they chose to ignore it in the name of absent safety.
