What caliber? Previously linked ammo? Or some other ferrous contact?

I had heard good reports about the Malaysian ammo but the stuff I saw at the Oaks gun show looked like it had been dug out of the mud or something, I passed on it.

Good fort 1 shot , but not reloading. Moisture gets trapped inside those 200rd heavy-duty PVC ''battle-paks'' and some start to corrode. It's not like they're vacuum paks.

That's why I pulled all mine out of the battle-paks and put the boxes in USGI ammo-cans with a dessicant pak.

Is there any possibility it is steel cased?

Not if it's the same Malaysian ammo I've been seeing for the past few years. Cartridge brass is 30% copper , 70% zinc. When it corrodes , it can look like steel rust. It's good stuff , get good reviews on the M-14 forum and those guys are real picky about ammo.

Is that the stuff with the silver colored bullets?
I thought mine was German, but I probably never checked.
Mine has all kinds of corrosion on it, but mostly green, I will see if I can post a photo later.
