Rust on brass

Is that the stuff with the silver colored bullets?
I thought mine was German, but I probably never checked.
Mine has all kinds of corrosion on it, but mostly green, I will see if I can post a photo later.

Yeah , some of the German surplus looks like it uses a different , perhaps cupro-nickel plating over steel jacketed bullets.

The person bought some Malaysian Surplus and some brass casings has rust all over , not green tarnish, but orange rust

Brass doesn't rust. Rust is iron oxide.

Careful with putting loaded brass in a tumbler. There are stories (probably urban legends) about tumbling live rounds and breaking up the powder or the deterrent coating. This can lead to high pressure. I don't personally believe with a limited amount of tumbling but YMMV. The corrosion in the pics don't look too bad so I would just shoot them as is (You won't blow up). If you have a problem extracting, hit the big parts of corrosion with steel wool or a scotchbright pad.

Yeah Ive heard that before. Back in the days when m2hb.net was around, we always had
threads on the subject, turns out to be a myth. Ive tried it myself a few times or more,
even pulled the bullet and inspected the powder.

Actually what I would like to know is what I can do to prevent it corroding further?
I already repacked with desiccant, is that enough?
My ammo tends to sit around for years.
