I've been putting multiple cities for my place of birth for years now. I honestly don't know where it actually is. Is it the hospital I was born at? My parents address at the time? I put one city for a few years, then started with another because I felt it was actually the correct one, then accidentally went back to the first once or twice.

I've never been contacted about it. I'd wager your entries fall under the same category of a non-issue.

If the hospital you were born in was in PA, but your parents lived in WV at the time, would it ever occur to you that your Place of Birth would, under any circumstances, be correctly specified as WV?

Until this thread, it never occurred to me that anyone of at least average intelligence would not know what county they live in, let alone what “Place of Birth” refers to.

I was born in PA, but my parents place of residence at the time was Rhode Island. My BC says PA.

All you guys jumping the op ass over knowing what county he lives in..... he moved to a town on the border of 2 counties and in the mountains the line gets blurry where your mailing address and physical address may vary. To op, it doesnt matter what you've wrote in the past just forget about it but start putting correct info from now on.

Not always correct and as was said, it's not always listed. We run into this with vehicle emissions testing.

State regulations say you have to take the car owner's word for it.

I have "fun" answering that question as my place of birth in the UK no longer exists. The little village became a very large mall SE of London about 20 years ago. Causes some interesting discussion. Dave_n

The literal interpretation of "Place of Birth" would be the city of the hospital you were born at. Streaker's birth certificate directly contradicts what you were so sure of.

Don't confuse intelligence with interpreting some BS government form. Although this is par for the course for you.

don't worry, Harrisburg and the Social Security Office will make it all right!

The new 'raised seal' certificate I got to replace the hand written [fountain pen] one I used for the first 40+ years of my life says 'County of Birth' : Northampton...

signing up for Medicare, the person going over my info said 'It has to match' and changed the Easton, Pa in the computer to Northampton, Pa despite my protests....

Can't wait for that to become an issue at some other bureaucratic agency.......

Thank you to those who actually answered my question. To those of you who were condescending, this is probably the third or fourth time I've put my address into something and it shows my county as Fayette county. My college makes us update our emergency contact info EVERY semester and when I input my address and zip, it AUTOMATICALLY puts Fayette county. I cannot change it in their system. It's amazing the amount of people who choose to bash a fellow gun owner for wanting to do the right thing. I'm glad those here who came to condescend have never made a honest mistake in their lives!

Again, thank you to those who answered my question. I am now 110% sure I'm in Westmoreland county!

My car has that but my pickup does not. I guess you gotta be a police man to be that observant.
