Default Anthony Arms may lose FFL

A federal grand jury has indicted the manager of a West Mifflin firearms dealer on a count of illegal sales by a licensed dealer.

Jamie Chonko, 34, the manager of Anthony Arms, is accused of selling four handguns to an out-of-state resident on June 19 of this year knowing that the buyer did not live in Pennsylvania.

Federal law prohibits sales of handguns by licensed dealers to out-of-state residents.

Ms. Chonko was indicted Jan. 7 and the case was unsealed the next day in U.S. District Court.

She appeared briefly in court Thursday and was released on bond.

A man who answered the phone at Anthony Arms declined to comment. The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Friday the process of revoking Anthony Arms' firearms license has begun.

Not to be a conspiracy theorist ...

I’d follow her fate. Sounds like a violation that would require a setup or a willing participant. Hard to believe the ATF is so on the ball. Once the FFL loses it license the manager bargains down. Rinse and repeat and whittle down the number of FFLs.

But, I’m not a conspiracy theorist.

The LCB was cyclical. There was a bar that was usually very busy when I was in college, but when the LCB was doing an enforcement in the area, it was near empty.
I remember walking in, looking at the crowd, and saying to the bartender: "LCB is in town huh?" and got an affirmative answer.

This isn't some rinky-dink, hole in the wall, gun shop either - Anthony Arms is pretty big, and while I haven't been there in many years, it always seemed "too rich for MY blood" when I walked in the door. Not just because the prices are high, but the whole place is much more upscale than any shop I've been to.

I was expecting something other than a sale to a non PA resident to be the cause of a FFL revocation.
    Seems strange.

You gotta get up to Cranberry and see Keystone Shooting Center sometime. It's a site to behold. A true 21st century shop and range. I've never had anything but pleasant experiences there.

Unlike AA that was negative the two times I went there.
