    Default Stupid Caliber Question

Just out of curiosity, and I guess this applies to handguns as well, do you guys tend to pick a caliber you like and stick with it so as to accumulate a ton of ammo and have easier round recognition, or do you subscribe to the "more is better" and "one of each" philosophy?

I've stuck with one rifle caliber, one pistol caliber, and 22's.

I aspire to have a few of each. A few twelve and twenty gauge, 7.62 X39 and 3.08, and a couple .45 and 9mm. this way I can have variety yet only reload for two of each. Long term ammo considerations is different. Me and my fiancee both would use 9mm hand guns and 7.62x39 weapons as shtf guns so those are the one s I have a lot of ammo stockpiled for and then I have half of that for the 12 gauges and .308 because their uses are less likely for my plans and thoughts. The .45's and twenty gauges only really have enough to load my mags up once or twice for extra people that may show up.

I tend to like a little variety in my collection. Makes things more interesting IMHO. Of the calibers I do have I do try and load up on ammo but with many different ones it can get expensive. I do have more than one firearm to go with some of the calibers.

    .308
    7.62x54R
    .223

Started out that way, then I tried an AK and had to have one, A Mauser, an Enfield, a Garand, a FAL, an M-1 Carbine....etc.

Things have slowly gone out of control...now I reload and have multiple ammo cans full of many flavors.
