    It’s a statewide effort.

Since this campaign just rolled out, your best bet to score your free safety gear from PSP is to contact your nearest state police barracks ahead of time to make sure they have all of the free items mentioned before visiting.

To locate a state police barracks near you, head here!

The best time to visit is during regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you already own a gun lock and want to print out the firearms safety card to help you keep an inventory of the guns you own in case one gets stolen or lost, head here to print out the card.

Firearms are useless if they're unloaded, in a locked container and disabled with a gun lock so thanks but no thanks.

Police departments in New Jersey have been doing the "free" gun lock thing for years.

Only 29 record lines available. Not very green to make us print multiple sheets.

They need to keep this in their patrol cars. Especially the know your target and what's beyond it. I think most cops think see your target and do a mag dump.

Wasn't it a Trooper who killed another Trooper, a few years ago in a training accident? Why are they preaching gun safety now? Just a bit late to the party!
