Colt to reintroduce the Python
No mention of a blued version but SS Python is coming back. List price of $1,499 is less than I would’ve expected.

The Python is back.
Building on Colt’s Snake Gun legacy, the legendary double-action revolver returns in stainless steel in 4.25” and 6” barrel lengths. The 2020 Python features modern stainless steel alloys and a re-designed rear sight. Thirty percent more steel beneath the rear adjustable target sight gives you a stronger revolver and more robust shooting experience. A recessed target crown, user-interchangeable front sight, and Walnut grip with the iconic Colt medallion make this a gun you’ll want to shoot AND show off. The Python is chambered in .357 Magnum and also accommodates 38 Special cartridges.

Nice. If the retail price ever makes it down to $1250-1300, I'm in for 6" version.

Re: Colt to reintroduce the Python
It’s cool to see them making the revolvers again but I don’t know how well they will sell at that price over time. Only boomers are willing to pay that much for a revolver.

Re: Colt to reintroduce the Python
I’m 42 and I guess a gen x’er and love a good wheel gun. Will I buy one of these? I don’t know depends if I like it or not in person.
I’m not sure when or why all this ridiculous generational or boomer labeling shit started or why I’m reading it in the comments in so many different topics on this site on a daily basis but I can tell you without a doubt it’s fucking retarded.
In my opinion firearms like music transcend age and generational gaps. You like what you like and what you may have been exposed to which has nothing to do with the year you were born.

Re: Colt to reintroduce the Python
Boomer is just an easier way of identifying people who are 50+. I’m sure people as old as I am but most likely younger are called millennials. I can understand a negative connotation, but it’s just a term to identify an age bracket. Anyways, I can understand the Colt Cobra. Conceal carry guns are the big craze right now (mostly semi-autos) but I can’t see enough non-boomers wanting to buy the python at that price to justify Colt making it. I’m not saying it isn’t a cool revolver. I’m saying I don’t know long term how good this is from a business standpoint. Although the market is flooded, and there are just as many good rifles in the same price range, but Colt would probably be better off making better quality rifles at slightly lower prices.

Re: Colt to reintroduce the Python
Wonder what it's going to do to the prices/values of the early versions???
Guess my "investment" could be in jeopardyPeace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Re: Colt to reintroduce the Python
The old pythons were already highly valued by firearm collectors/ shooters of all ages. Not every handgun is purchased for concealed carry. Not every rifle is bought to bury in the yard and wait for the igloo. Compared to the prices of the old Pythons, these are very reasonable. Also, if you believe the marketing, the design has been improved with modern tech. These will have no trouble selling and will be difficult to find anywhere for a while.
