Do you own a Glock? Or a Tanfoglio Witness? If so, just get a 22TCM9R conversion barrel. Cheapest way to get into 22TCM9R.

22 tcm is a hoot to shoot! I have the Rock Island and it's a blast. I did not know they made a conversion for a Glock - very interesting......

I've been looking for one online, it appears to be discontinued.
I'd actually like to get one and dedicate it to a G17 with a Roni kit.

Looks like they've been out a while - I was clueless. I see posts on 22 tcm sight dating back to 2015!
Still plenty of conversion barrels out there on GB and Ammo too. Still seems neat to have a Glock 17 shooting 22 tcm. Just hate that I would now have 22 tcm ammo for my
Rock Island and 22 tcm 9r ammo for my Glock And you're right, I have a Roni for my 17 so doubly cool !

Not discontinued. Links in post #36 of this thread to the G19 barrel.

Advanced Tactical has the G17/22, G19/23 and Witness conversion kits for 22TCM9R.

You can shoot 22TCM9R out of any handgun that shoots 22TCM, so no need to stock both. 22TCM9R is slightly shorter to accommodate a standard 9mm magazine. The mags used for the 22TCM 1911's are .38 super because of the greater length.

I ordered the conversion kit and the roni, looking forward to getting this together!

How does the different length affect headspace?

The case is the same. The bullet in 22TCM9R is 1gr less (39gr) than the 22TCM (40gr), making the overall length shorter. I believe the 22TCM9R bullet is seated deeper than the 22TCM.

If you want to get into the weeds, there's 5.56x24, which is a 22TCM case necked down to take .224 bullets, but made a short enough OAL so that it fits into a standard 9mm mag and will function out of any 22TCM9R handgun.
