Re: Assembly Bill A8931
"Requires firearms manufacturers to include global positioning system technology to allow a stolen firearm to be tracked."
One of the problems with this NYS Assembly bill is that some Assembly is required, and one is definitely lacking in New York State.
Has the ability to exercise common sense completely disappeared from many parts of society?
If enacted and manufacturers were to comply, HOW DIFFICULT would it be for the GPS device to be defeated or removed from the weapon, or at minimum, the battery removed from the device?

Re: Assembly Bill A8931
So not only do you have to install a GPS receiver.... you would also have to install a transmitter. So now you put the realm of firearms into the FCC's jurisdiction, too.
All of which can be defeated with some aluminum foil, a mylar bag, or as Noah stated..... removing a battery. I didn't read the bill.... but I am assuming that police are exempted? Because we know the police never lose guns....

Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Totally understandable.

Re: Assembly Bill A8931
Wouldn't it make more sense to put tracking GPS locators on each individual Representative so we know where to go to citizen arrest them when they pass this kind un-Constitutional law.
