A mailing that really got me P'd Off!
From the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO - States: "OBAMA will help me keep my job and he'll protect my gun rights." Then a little further along it says:
"Protecting our Gun Rights
Barack Obama believes in the Second Amendment right of an individual to bear arms. That's why he's been endorsed by the American Hunters and Shooters Association."
BUT the Official 2008 Democratic Party Platform says this:
"Firearms
We recognize that the right to bear arms is an important part of the American tradition, and we will preserve Americans' Second Amendment right to own and use firearms. We believe that the right to own firearms is subject to reasonable regulation, but we know that what works in Chicago may not work in Cheyenne. We can work together to enact and enforce commonsense laws and improvements – like closing the gun show loophole, improving our background check system, and reinstating the assault weapons ban, so that guns do not fall into the hands of terrorists or criminals"
Note bold added for emphasis. Haven't we seen all of this before? Or is it just the Democrat way to protect something by banning it.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

FYI: Paul Helmke, the President of the Brady Campaign, says of the AHSA, "I see our issues as complementary to theirs".[

Some interesting stuff about "American Hunters and Shooters Association" leadership.
Founding President: Ray Schoenke.....Among the groups that Schoenke has donated to are two that actively lobby to ban firearms: Handgun Control, Inc.[13][14] and America Coming Together.
Jon Rosenthal, a real estate mogul and Founder of Stop Handgun Violence. Stop Handgun Violence is credited with lobbying and subsequently helping to pass the licensing and registration system in place in the state of Massachusetts.
Joseph J. Vince, Jr. is a principal of Crime Gun Solutions. HCI has hired Crime Gun Solutions in order to support numerous gun control laws,[16][17] to support HCI's lawsuits against firearm dealers[18] and he was a signer on a letter submitted to Congress opposing the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act
Sound like a "pro-gun" group to you? The above information was taken from the Wiki page about AHSA, where you can find much more information showing how anti-gun this group really is.

everyone who is a member of the AFL-CIO should write to the board of directors (or whoever runs it) and demand that they stop lying to the membership.

Why stop a time honored tradition of lying to labor organization members? I mean they extort their members and use that money to help get friendly officials elected to further their power. All they while preying on the fears of their members. I mean high labor costs are one major reason industry is shipped out of this country, but somehow members are supposed to believe that if their union officials are elected again and pay raises and benefits sweeteners are added somehow business will be forced to stay in the US.
