Default Reliable, inexpensive dot or acog style optic for an AR

Not for super heavy use, but I am only familiar with Aimpoints (comp 2 & 4, 2s are junk) and Acogs. What something reliable, but is less expensive then those options. Don't have a strong preference for gold, red, or green.

Vortex makes some really nice optics at an affordable price.
They make a 3x red dot too.
I cant afford an ACOG, but I willl be putting a 3x Vortex on ny next AR build.
I also have a couple Aimpoint Pro's and they're great, but no magnification.

I have a Sig Romeo 5 on an AR pistol that’s held up perfectly well. The glass has a slight tint compared to higher end aimpoints but really isn’t noticeable when running it. Multiple brightness setting and will turn itlsef off then shake to wake so you can always leave it on and not kill battery.

I think they can be had for ~120 or so, maybe cheaper if on sale somewhere.

Palmetto state arms and look for free shipping. $119. Great deal when on sale.

Romeo 5s seem to be the go-to for a cheap, reliable (from all reports) dot.

The next step up would be the Trijicon MRO. On sale at primary arms you can get them for under $400. 25mm tube vs the Romeo's 20mm (pros/cons to both sizes). And American made for the extra $300.
