Want to give an AR15 as a gift - how to?
Hello and Merry Christmas to anyone reading this.
I am going to give my nephew an AR15 as a gift for helping me out at my house.
Also like to give my son a Yugo Mauser.
Is the best and safest way to do a transfer at a dealer?
Not sure.
Never did this before.

Assuming your nephew is 18 or older and not prohibited, hand it to him, unloaded, with the action open and the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

We are assuming of course that neither is a prohibited person.

Neither one is prohibited by law to own a firearm.
I just wanted to make sure of the proper way to do this.

See how easy life can be? That's three people who will have a nice Christmas....the bestower and the bestowed.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

So long as neither are prohibited, and that both parties are residents of PA - transfers/gifts/loans of long guns requires NOTHING. ...just hand it over.

Like others said, as long as the receiving person is not prohibited by law and you’re both PA residents then it’s as simple as handing to him. For the future though if a handgun is the subject of a gift that’s where the law is a little specific on who and how.
