Re: Anyone seen these at the courthouse?
I've seen lockers like that in VA. Out in the public on the sidewalk near places that carrying is forbidden.

Re: Anyone seen these at the courthouse?
I'd just hope that someone is guarding that container. From the looks of it, it doesn't look too hard to break in to.
I would NEVER put my weapon in that container on a public sidewalk."Having a gun and thinking you are armed is like having a piano and thinking you are a musician" Col. Jeff Cooper (U.S.M.C. Ret.)

All those little lockers scare me! I almost lost my camera and wifey's purse at Universal Studios due to a mishap with those electronic lockers they have there! Took me 1 hour to get an attendant to release my articles!

Re: Anyone seen these at the courthouse?
I was guessing that lockers like this are relatively inexpensive and would easily secure a handgun next to screeners at the courthouse entrance. Inexpensive enough that the officials couldn't complain they have no means to secure a handgun as per Lehigh County.

Re: Anyone seen these at the courthouse?
Do they charge 50 cents like the lockers at the railroad station?
Here's a plan for you municipalities out there:
1. Set up coin-op locker boxes outside of court houses and other places of forbidden weapons carry at taxpayer's expense.
2. ....
3. Profit!

Re: Anyone seen these at the courthouse?
If this is real, I think it's a lousy idea. First off, in general, locks are rather trivial to pick. Second, if a key's missing, you know there's a firearm inside. Third, if you're a criminal... you just found a free magic gun box!

Re: Anyone seen these at the courthouse?
The person guarding it is the next guy who has to use it. You know he's armed!. If you saw someone trying to break in you'd say/do something. Plus it would likely be used in places like federal buildings and courthouses. Generally really dumb places to commit crimes. Although I've seen lots of really dumb criminals.
