Plastic gun cases

Does anyone else keep the plastic cases that come with the pistols when you buy them?
I have but now they are building up and thinking of trashing them, I do not store them in these cases.

I like to keep them, but if you are serious about getting rid of them, depending on which ones they are, they sell on eBay for $10-25 each and I have bought them at gun shows for $5-10.

If you just want to get rid of them, please let me know. I will be down that way next week on Monday.

If you or your heirs ever decide or need to sell those guns, the original boxes and paperwork will add significant value to the purchase price. This is true no matter what you are selling, from guns to watches any other collectable.

Most collectors, when they buy a gun to add to their collection, really like to see the original box and all the paperwork that came with it. And a collection doesn't have to be the expensive, scarce, hard to find guns, it could be a collection of Rock Island Armory 1911's or NAA .22's. What collections want is to be able to show/display what/how that particular gun progressed from start to now and the original boxes do play a part. As said, a gun in the original box with the original papers is typically worth a bit more. There are Ruger other companies original boxes that now command upwards to $1000 just for the box. I store mine in big plastic bins and stow them under the stairs in my house. I would not store them unprotected in an attic though, the temperature extremes are hard on both cardboard and plastic boxes.

You'd be amazed at people that want original boxes and packaging. As mentioned don't store in any place that gets extreme temperatures like the attic or garage.

I had my sights on a Beretta M9 case at a fun show a while back but the guy wouldn't budge on his thirty dollar price tag.
