This is part of the problem with government at all levels...the mindset is that they're "elected officials" now, not "elected representatives". Those who want government to rule over them (Democrats) and the elected themselves all see them as rulers over us, when it's supposed to be the opposite. We are to control them, not the other way around.

Sometimes, some of them need a reminder.

Their refusal to implement term limits is proof that they're in it to serve themselves, not serve the rest of us.

I will tell them when they're wrong, or not on the same page with the rest of us.

Even the best of them like Metcalffe can get distracted by the grandeur of the Capitol.
Again, I must state that I believe there is a bit of a misunderstanding on this board as to what this rally is and who organizes it.

This was always designed to lobby lawmakers and it is not organized by an elected official. It is organized by Daryl Metcalfe the individual, just as you or I might organize one. The difference is that as an office holder, he has an easier time reserving space and getting speakers to come, than you or I might.

Some on this board don't like the flyer. Ok, that's fine. But to say that Metcalfe is "wrong" is in my view presumptuous. He is entitled to his view just as you are, to yours. He is very conservative. So am I. I happen to agree with him that socialism is the absolute threat and the true source of all of the gun-control pressure in h-burg. I understand that not everyone sees it that way, but that does not mean that those who do, are wrong.

It is Metcalfe's annual rally. It is his flyer. He sees socialism as the enemy that we need to stop. People can disagree and can tell him so, but obviously, he has the right to his own opinion.
