This makes going to PR a much more interesting possible tourist destination in the future. I can't carry on a Jersey beach but I would be able to in PR? Cool.

You may be on to something. Many cannot legally carry as a non resident in a lot of states. You mentioned NJ, but also NY, CT, MD, CA, SC. Unless I have to, I don't like to spend any time or money in states which enable those turning decent people into victims of crime. I just flat out will not go to California. Puerto Rico is the product of decades of socialist policy at work in destroying anything decent.
I wonder if next they will make a bid to attract firearms and ammunition makers to boost their economy. Something PA should have been doing with MA, CT, NY and NJ doing their best to chase those industries out of their states. Of course, we had a Democrat Governor blind to that opportunity.

Republican Governor Tom Corbett was also blind to it as well. IIRC, while he was Governor, Remington was looking to escape NY and Beretta was looking to escape MD. At least Kahr decided to set up shop in Pike County. That's better than nothing, but it could have been so much more had anyone in authority exerted a little effort.

Very good news.PR is on my short list of retirement locations,I even came close to pulling the trigger on purchasing a house down there a few years ago.I did notice a gun store the last time I was down there but we didn't have time to stop in and check it out.

Wait, SC? I thought that changed a year or two ago and we were good there
****
Edit. Just looked. Apparently not. SC is a no go zone.

South Carolina allows one to have a loaded firearm in a car glovebox without a permit. It's not much, but it's better than other states with no permit.
