Default What to get?? Need help!

Hey guys I am 100% torn. I am looking for a fun gun to add to the collection. With my Xmas bonus I am looking for either a Mossberg shockwave or a GI style 1911 but I can’t decide which one to get help me out!

    1911 or shockwave?

I vote the 1911. In my view the stockless shotgun is useless. You can put a brace on it but recoil, blast , are increased from a regular style shotgun. I never saw anyone spent a lot of time on the range with a tactical shotgun. Maybe it's the recoil or the expense of shells but I think you will get more use out of the handgun.

    1911

Way more fun to shoot and everyone should own at least one if you're into guns IMHO.

Get a Rock Island (no affiliation) GI 1911. They're cheap, accurate, reliable, and fun as hell. It ain't a Wilson Combat but it's not going to let you down either.

I wind up shooting mine more than any other 1911. You'll use it a whole lot more than a shockwave too.

Of those two choices, I vote 1911. Not personally a big fan of the shockwave style of shotgun. I have shot a 12 gauge version, and found it awkward as hell. Was able to hit reasonably well with it at close range, but didn't enjoy it much. Only shot low brass, so It wasnt really a recoil thing, Just seemed uncomfortable to me. It was a buddys, and he has since picked up another in 20 guage, so YMMV.

Obviously the 1911 is way more practical, but the thread title said "fun gun". I had a few novelty guns and they always found themselves getting sold or traded off. This is a tough one OP, but I also vote for the 1911.

Shockwave will be cheaper and it's a Mossberg 590 so it's built like a tank. They are fun and you can get relatively good with one. But that said I'm echoing everyone else's opinion and saying 1911. The Springfield GI models are very nice but you also have the Rugers and RIAs.

Another vote for the 1911. You did say FUN! The shockwave may be fun for some folks for a little while, but the 1911 will be fun until you are old and older.
