Re: Illegal reference check?
Bucks County asks for references as well, but I can't remember if I have to list them on my renewal application..it is a separate page I think.
Should I challenge the form if they ask for references? They never call them anyway as I asked my two friends if they were ever contacted.

Re: Illegal reference check?
Like I said, I don't want him to have any issues. He's retired and not looking for a fight.
Me on the other hand, I'm ready to go to bat. Consider me his designated hitter.
P.S. how do I pm Sig? I want to give him a copy of the form but I don't know how. I'll drop it off at his office if I need to.

Re: Illegal reference check?
I'm obviously not a lawyer, but I just want to pass on my experience how it's done in Berks, which is the way it should be everywhere in PA, imho.
1. When I first go my LTCF they still required references. However, they never asked for any form to be filled out or signed, other than the LTCF application.
2. They never contacted references, unless something fishy came up(so I've heard). My references where never contacted, people who I was a reference for where never contacted.
3. When I went for my renewal this summer, I left the reference section blank. The deputy who took my app didn't bat an eye. He typed my info into PICS, took my $20, took my picture, handed me my LTFC and said have a nice day.
So, I would challenge anything other than the application. But that's just my opinion.
