maybe he was pulling it up from the ground, it might be a little tough to cock and load one in a stand

Probably an accurate assumption he last said, Ow! Shit!
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Well. May he rest in peace.
My stand is 20 feet above grade.
I took the zipline to it down a couple years ago.
My wife said she didnt care so much if I fell off the zipline and killed myself but was afraid I would break my neck and she would have to wipe my ass for the rest of my life.

Now, given this story, she asked if I wanted a portable heater and a 6 pack of propane cylinders.

    Cant figure her out sometimes.

This incident is actually pretty alarming to me because I use a Coleman Propane heater to warm myself up in my blind during rifle season. Does anyone know what could possibly cause a propane heater to explode like this? (minus a direct rifle shot to it of course).

Allowing too much gas to escape into blind before attempting to ignite it is a # 1 No No !

Cross threading the cylinder could also be a possibility
My friend uses those heaters to spot heat his camp and started to cross thread one. Caught himself.
If the sealing gasket was missing, that would allow a lot of gas to leak.
