Ahh, I see. So mops, you can:

swab barrel with hoppes/cleaner soaked mop to apply good and let sit. Brush after that then cleaning jag/pad/etc.

swab barrel with oil soaked mop for protection

I use shot gun mops to clean the insides of magazines and the magwell on my AR.

Yes that’s about it. I wash the solvent used mops in the sink with dish soap and let dry. I use them with solvent for copper or lead removal after the carbon is gone from patches. I use the long stick type for shotgun bores because it’s so fast.

Shotgun barrels (smooth bores) don't get that dirty (no lands and groves) they are easy to clean spent powder residue from and to put a coat of oil to prevent rust. I've always just run a snake down my shotgun barrels with CLP a few times and call it a day.
The supposed real problem with a shotgun barrel is plastic buildup from wads. Regular solvents won't dissolve/remove plastic build up. Trap and skeet shooters will swear plastic buildup makes a difference and needs to be removed, but I say to that "prove it".
