Purple Paint Law In PA. indicating No Tresspassing / Hunting.
Anybody have any idea why Philadelphia and Allegheny counties do not observe the law?

Cause you won't be able to tell the no trespassing markings from the graffiti? Plus they didn't want to need to print translation booklets.

Re: Purple Paint Law In PA. indicating No Tresspassing / Hunting.
No such thing as private property in Philly I guess.
The article headline is misleading since it says it's to ban hunting. From what I read on my senators email this past weekend it's to be used to replace no trespassing signs that can be easily removed or wear out over time. I can mark my land to keep people out for a number of reasons and still hunt it myself or allow permission to others as in see fit. This is common practice in several other states using the same purple color.Join the GOA & save $5.00. https://www.gunowners.org/mac-subs-join-goa.htm

Re: Purple Paint Law In PA. indicating No Tresspassing / Hunting.
What confuses me is that most folks dont have a frigggin clue about their surroundings situational awareness, how to do simple tasks like change tires, check air pressures, read a map...stay off other peoples land ect ....( dont want to make this another boomers vs millenial thread LOL ! ) how is a purple stripe supposed to replace a sign that says "stay the fuck out" if you do not know what said purple stripe means ? until I heard of this law recently i would have thought a purple stripe on a tree or post was a trailblazer, much like that seen on the appalachian trail and other hiking areas in assorted colors open to the public ?

Was thinking about this last month, didn't know they passed it. Off to get some of the paint this week. Signs seem to always rip themselves off somehow.

Re: Purple Paint Law In PA. indicating No Tresspassing / Hunting.
The governor just signed it last week. Give it time. People will catch on to its meaning. Interesting that the commercial paint cans are labeled NO HUNTING PAINT...probably why just no trespassing isn't expressed in the reporting.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.
