Re: French Creek Outfitters
I just found out about this today when I swung by there. The older lady I talked to apparently is one of the owners. She said that the lease is going up prohibitively and that the landlord does not want to alter the unit and let them lease just half of it. They're at an age that they don't want to start over at another location so they're liquidating and retiring at the end of February. I hope the landlord is just greedy and not motivated politically.
Regardless of retail prices or past perceived bad service by some employees, I feel FCO's closing is a net loss to everyone. Sad.

Re: French Creek Outfitters
Rent is going from 45K per year, to 90K. Sounds like a squeeze move to me. The landlord may be an anti, or they can make more money making sections out of it.

$45K/year for that much sq footage seems cheep. Not sure if landlord is taking the piss at $90K or not.

A little digging reveals that retail space around Phonyville is in the vicinity of $2/sq ft/mo. I have no idea how many sq ft that store is.

Re: French Creek Outfitters
The guy told us it was $45,000/yr but I thought that was low. Still, at $45,000/mo that's a lot of overhead.
