    Default French Creek Outfitters

Has anyone heard that French Creek Outfitters may be closing? A friend of mine shoots there a couple of times a week and chats with he workers there. From what he told me (i haven't been there in years) they started downsizing their merchandise and were focusing on hunting guns only. Now he is telling me that the owner is trying to sell but the deal went through and they will decide whether or not to stay open after the holiday season.

I haven't been there in a few years and I found their pricing to be high when I was there. Has the same guy owned it since it opened? If so I'd expect that he is getting old.

Hope not. I use the range and buy odds and ends and they're only 10 minutes away. Gun prices are high but most other stuff is on par with Cabellas etc. TSS in Avondale is a hike just to use the range. Was thinking about getting the yearly range pass for $125 for seniors but now???

I guess we will just wait and see what the beginning of next year brings us. I sure wouldn't spend any money on a membership there though.

Hopefully if they do sell, someone keeps the theme and not turn it into Michaels or a Five Below.

Is that place ever busy? The times when I was there (which has been years) there was just modest activity in the place. It's a fairly large store, which was formerly a SuperFresh grocery store and I can't imagine what the rent is on it, let alone the utilities. Then toss in workers' wages and affiliated costs. How much merchandise would they have to sell to break even? Then pay a boatload of money for the business on top of it all? I don't see how someone could buy the business and make a go of it. Now if the place was crowded like Tanner's is, that might be another story.

I hope they go out of business!

They jerked me around several years ago. Their prices were high and the staff was made up of mostly arrogant jerkoffs.

I cant completely disagree. I just dont want to lose a range.

Shortly after my daughter was born this year, i decided it was time to start carrying daily again especially with us moving back to montco, and an incident we had.
Unfortunately i had to bring her with me to french creek(sales floor only) to buy my gun.

We waited for over 30 minutes with 6 $100 bills in my right hand and my 2 week old daughter in her car seat in my left while pointing at the Sig P365.

Was completely ignored, not even greeted.
They would walk around me to the next customer, while really just hanging out and bullshitting with friends on a rather busy for them day.
Very loudly stated how rude and unprofessional they were being especially considering i have a small infant with me and im being ignored as a customer. Told them and the management at the front counter why i was leaving, with my money, and that im taking it to kings shooter supply and i will never again attempt to purchase a firearm from french creek.
Still havent gave them any money other than the range or 1 transfer(sellers request). Did buy my sig p365 and love the hell out of it, ended up having at least 6 others to buy p365s as well.

    Their loss.

Tried going there a few other times, for mags, ammo, sling, targets, etc. Prices were absurdly expensive. Walked around the store and most everything can be found on amazon prime with 1 day shipping for much much less.

The range unfortunately isnt something amazon or ebay can drop ship me. Lol
