    Default Stuck AK Windage Drum

Severely stuck AK front windage post. The adjustment tool isn't even close to working. So far I've tried:

    -soaking in penetrating oil
    -heating with torch
-putting in a vice with two socket bits - one smaller than the drum diameter, one larger
-hitting with a good amount of force to a brass punch
    -repeat

Any other ideas? I'm not going to buy one of the "heavy duty" sight tools because there's no way it's going to apply more torque than I already am with a bench vice.

Have you tried hitting it with a bigger hammer?

Are you sure it isn't already maxed out in the direction you're trying to go?

Nope, I'm going in the correct direction.

It's maxed out, but I am indeed going in the opposite direction.

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!! pretty happy right now. I've spent a lot of time trying to fix this.

Heated it, put it back in the vice and applied an ungodly amount of torque using cheater pipes on the vice handle. I committed that I didn't care if I broke my vice. Sure enough I heard a very satisfying "crack" and all was right in the world.

If it was a taper it wouldn’t work as windage.
