PREPPING FOR OPENING DAY !
Spent 6 hours in the Gameland today some walking observing and looking at trails,Seen a lot of Anterless and the Bucks were five that I saw all having real nice 8 plus point racks.Yes It was frigging cold but I was bundled and Had an overhead protection from falling ice and branches.I feel good that I was able to spend this amount of time out in the woods and hopefully the cold would shrink my enlarged prostate ! Looks like a positive hunting season !Good Luck to all.

Re: PREPPING FOR OPENING DAY !
We had snow today. My neighbor and i took a ride out on the mountain where we hunt. Didn't see any deer. But it was a nice outing. I think the deer were under the pines and laurel keeping warm. And good luck everyone.

Re: PREPPING FOR OPENING DAY !
We went up to camp this past weekend.
Made sure, heaters, furnace, water etc etc were in order.
Buddy went into the woods and decided to stay in an area we used to hunt. Not quite as far and pretty level.
I fished to no avail.
I'm prepping for our food list since I'm the shanty bitch this year.
Im taking a roast which I'll shred Into a chipped beef with celery, mushrooms, onions, mushroom gravy mix and a few spices. Makes good sandwichs.
A rack of ribs, a pork loin with potatoes and kraut.
I think I'll bake an apple pie too.
I took my smoker up and will.take a bunch of jerky chunks I got off the 14 point and doe for jerking.
I ordered 5 pounds of bacon which I'll pick up on Friday at George's Little Store.
I might take a rifle and orange just to go in, move deer and shoot a mountain lion if one happens by. Or a yote.
My last doe tag is for 2A and I'll be back home by next Friday.
Good luck you guys.

Re: PREPPING FOR OPENING DAY !
I dont hunt anymore but going up sweet valley friday morning, hope to test out the new CZ scorpion.
Will be doing a lot of cooking and drinking and smoking cigars and whatnot, and playing cards.
Probably do some driving for the hunters (2), and riding atvs (at night) also.
Good luck everybody.
