I have been ready since the summer. Rain forecast for my area. I may go, I may stay home. I have archery hunted PA and NY already. I have rifle hunted NY already. I am heading to camp Tuesday of the first week and returning home Sunday. I'll get plenty of time in the woods for sure. Toting a pistol this year. As far as doe hunting the first week goes, I get a DMAP tag or two. They can be filled during the first week. I usually save them for flintlock season. Two deer in the freezer already means that I probably won't shoot anything else this season unless it is a decent buck.

With all this gender neutral stuff, could I tag a doe with my buck tag ?
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

My 17 foot high deer pole only had a trout hanging before today.

Nice 27hand, poles are good for other things like pole dancing and kielbasa.

Awesome congrats. I stayed in this am. Had the gut feeling to stay home safe. Ventured out later this after. But others were at my spot. Going out Monday in the snow.

I hindsight I would have stayed in today. Way too many people and I did not feel particularly safe. Wish I had my own land...

No matter how much I was bundled up I became Hypothermic in the morning after 2 hours.Got home hot shower and went back out 230pm It was a bit warmer and felt no discomfort until I stood up violentley shaking you betcha Hypothermia again this time with nausea and shaking for 5 hours after leaving woods.I post this so as for hunters thining they dont have enough clothing on there is never enough. Saw two deer in the morning but their heads were down and could not discern antlered or anterless so let them walk away. Now If It was allowed I would have had meat after the first 30 minutes ! Good Luck to all. Forgot to mention being on Blood Thinners Presagrel does not help and makes it difficult to stay warm !

MD2 Sorry to hear how your opener went. Hope you are ok.
I carry a change of shirts to change out of sweaty shirts when I get to my stand (not the one in my back yard). I use the shirt(s) as a towel to dry off, wait till I get uncomfortable and redress with a dry base layer and a couple layers.
I have a backpack that I also carry a spare jacket and sweatshirt so I can add or take off outerwear as needed.

Since I sit on the ground, the backpack acts as a back rest.
Yes, I carry too much stuff but i use a lot of it when I go in.

Good luck to you and everyone else tomorrow and the rest of the season.
I'll be out on Sat to try for a 2A doe. It'll probly be the Rem 760 in .06. She needs a turn.
