That's why they call it SEPTA.

You can carry anywhere in PA, SEPTA here.

If you guys would quit setting 'em up, I'd quit knocking them down!
It is you. You have all the weapons that you need. Now fight. --Sucker Punch

The viper program is not anything like the airport TSA. Its a boots on the ground patrol to assess threats & vulnerabilities done by LEO. For the most part those teams aren't even TSA.

Two weeks ago I OC'd on a SEPTA bus after I dropped my Jeep off at the shop for inspection.

I'll carry any one of a number of firearms on a daily basis. When I ride SEPTA, Its my 1911. I just prefer having a steel .45 on hand when shit is likely to hit the fan.

Mostly correct. Your right about it's purpose, but most of those VIPR teams have TSOs from the airport on them, in addition to TSA Regulatory Inspectors and FAMs.

I CC as well just about every time I am on SEPTA, whether it is subway, El, bus or train. Never had an issue. Don't want to have one either. But, if there is an issue, want to be prepared. Have seen a couple of instances where large groups of youths (50 or so) were in a subway station and jumping down on the tracks, crossing to the opposite platforms and generally creating mayhem. In that instance SEPTA stopped the subway trains at the prevoius station. We left just as the SEPTA police were arriving to break it up.
