OK, now that I've had a chance to take a QUICK look, I see that Surefire EDC lights are competitively priced - around $60-$90.
The prices I had seen for their weapon lights were WAY more than everyone else's, so I assumed all their stuff was priced out of reach.

I ordered from Smoky Mountain Knife Works around 2:20am and got a very professional, detailed order confirmation at 2:37am.

There may end up being a Black Friday deal somewhere that is better, but I doubt it.

I tried repping everyone for participating in the thread.
I've always found it valuable to hear input from forum members when delving into the unknown.
Sometimes I learn a few thing along the way - like in this thread.

I appreciate the input - it helped me make a decision.
I'm still looking at other options as well - I have other guns that I'd like lights on when I can afford to do so.

I can't wait to see it all mounted up! Finding a place to live fire in the dark is tough.... Clear out your ammo and practice running dry in the dark. At least it is something.

I have a feeling that even though the Crimson Trace comes with 3 mounting options, I'm going to need an offset mount to move the light up.
Not sure it will work out mounted directly to the side of the rail and the rail is on the x39 pistol limited to side or bottom mounting - nothing in between.
The rail on my 5.56 has M-Lok slots at an angle above the side slots which may work fine.

I guess I'll find out when I get them.

Olight has black Friday prices listed - you can't buy at that price until the 28th though.

Hoping they add some more to that list, there's a few I've been waiting for and their sales last year were huge.
