SMALL Weapon Lights for AR15 Pistols / SBRs

I was looking at some of the handheld Streamlight Pro Tac lights - Wasn't sure if they would be rated for recoil though.
Gotta be better than the cheap Chinese Amazon offerings though.

This one is 350 lumens and can use 2 types of batteries - need to confirm if tail cap has momentary.

Seems like all of the affordable ones are just cheap flashlights with a weapon mount thrown in.
No actual thought put into practical functions.
What the hell good is a weapon light that doesn't have a momentary switch?
Who wants to have to cycle through 5 light settings (including strobe) to start out where you want?

It's looking like that S&W Delta Force (that name alone is a red flag) and I'm assuming the Crimson Trace, only function like the $5 "tac light" I bought at Ollies - "low/high/strobe" - and you must click through each to get to the next one. WTF?

The actual weapons lights that have sensible lighting options are either very expensive, or are way larger than I want.

I'm starting to focus on EDC lights instead due to their smaller size and functionality, but I'm still not sure they are rated for weapons use. I guess I could email the companies and ask.
Buying an EDC light and a universal mount would provide me with a lot better options.

Oh yeah, most of you already know that I'm not spending $100-$300 on a flashlight.

Feel free to submit suggestions for them for the sake of others who are surely in need of a similar, SMALL light, but I'm hoping to keep this around $50-$75.

I may be open to spending around $100 if I don't have any other choice than quality or total junk, but this time of year money is tight, so if I settle on something priced higher, it may have to wait until spring.

I have a quality hand held light that I payed $60 for but by the time I spent 28 bucks for a way to mount it, it wasn't too far away form the price of a real weapon light. I ditched the mount and just use it as a flashlight now.

If you buy a light with a "scout" type mount you have a bunch of mounting options instead of having to use picatinny mounts and adapters to get the light were you want it. Nothing like buying a mount and then mounting the light's mount to that mount. I would rather have a single mount on the light that takes up a small footprint that is exactly what you need and nothing else. The m-lok mounts are as small as you can get. Even on my old quad rails, I change the original scout light bases to get the light off the rail and out of the way. It doesn't matter how big or tinny the light is once they are tucked in and off the rail at the 11 or 1 o'clock position. It's almost like they aren't there.


The Surefire scouts and Streamlights come with removable picatinny "scout style" mounts that will work with any style M-lok or KeyMod mount made for them. You can screw the new mount directly to the light.

The Inforce light will work perfect on any style picatinny mount or even just mount them on the top rail, I like them because they sit flush against the pic rail adapter and if you buy a small rail it looks like the light is directly attached to the gun.

The Inforce and Streamlights are both in the price range you are looking for.

Yes, I'm trying to factor in needed mounts for EDC lights, and found that some, as mentioned, end up costing just as much as a true weapon light.

That said, I may be able to get a smaller package that way.
