Re: Supreme Court to allow suit against Remington
Ok I came back to say something similar after doing some digging. This isn't the big deal the headlines are making it out to be.
"There is an exception in the law if the manufacturer violates it through marketing practices. They can make and sell guns, but if their marketing convinces people to use them illegally they can still be liable."
If Remington wins this is very good, but it has to go to court first.
This is SCOTUS staying in its lane.Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.

Re: Supreme Court to allow suit against Remington
So Remington will be sued for a rifle I am pretty sure they did not even market or manufacture since it was made pre purchase of Bush Master if I am remembering correctly.

Some good discussions after the article. Sheds some more light on refusing to hear the appeal. Of course, none of the major news outlets get into the substance. Those are just masturbatory fantasies written for the gun haters."A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself"

Re: Supreme Court to allow suit against Remington
My memory is really bad but...wasn't a case just like this tossed by SCOTUS a couple of months ago?

Re: Supreme Court to allow suit against Remington
Arms Unlimited ad looks risky to me. Seems it could bite 'em in the ass if that model is used similar to the Remington suit:
FN SCAR 17-S
.308 / 7.62 Semi-Auto Battle Rifle
SALE: $2,995
List Price: $3,349There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Re: Supreme Court to allow suit against Remington
I'm confused as to how the case relates at all to marketing and advertising since the shooter never purchased the firearm.
