What? You don't have all of the back issues to Physical Reviews Journal from the American Physical Society?

    Abstract

The magnetic susceptibility of alloys of copper and nickel in proportions ranging from 0.1 to 70 percent nickel have been studied. X-ray photographs of the alloys show that they are a homogeneous mixture of the copper and nickel crystals. Although copper is only weakly diamagnetic it requires 0.8 or 0.9 percent nickel to neutralize this diamagnetic effect and 56 percent nickel is required before the alloy shows ferromagnetic properties at ordinary temperatures. For amounts of nickel from one percent up to 30 percent the alloy, while paramagnetic in most respects, does not obey any known law of paramagnetism with regard to temperature. As the temperature is increased the susceptibility first increases and then decreases, the maximum occurring in the neighborhood of the Curie point for nickel. In the case of alloys containing more than 30 percent nickel the susceptibility decreases with increase of temperature for temperatures above 20°C.

How 'bout that...I'm still not too old to learn anything.

As I recall that is MEN 1990's surplus that had the headstamps removed to be sold. It's your standard 7.62x51 NATO ammo.

If so I guess they had to sell it under 308 and not 7.62x51

SG Ammo had a lot of it and as I recall the story they told was that it had to be totally repackaged to be sold and the key part of it was it had to be "demilitarized". Germany is real big these days on not exporting military surplus, I know that much.

I have couple of boxes of that MEN around that haven't been demiled.

ETA: I had a couple dated 85 but it looks like they got used up, still have the brass and they do not have a cross on them. I also found a box of 320 (16 boxes of 20) that I got off of Midway or Ammoman within the last year dated 16, no cross and nothing ground off of them. Stamped 7.62x51 in the base.

    I love German MEN!

It's great ammo. Very accurate and supposed to do more damage than the usual FMJ.

That newer white box is the one they had to repackage it into for export.

The milled case head is also part of the export rules... be very careful firing it ( the milled rounds ) in vigorous action'd 308 / 7.62x51's. ( M1A H&K )

It has been just fine in my Large Frame AR's ... but those have Adj. GB's and heavy recoil setups ( heavy buffer and recoil spring )

FWIW.... the milled stuff is crazy accurate from numerous of my large frame AR's..

20rds 100yds scoped benched.. etc... pretty good for surplus

So they work good in a AR-10?
