My wife is going with me tomorrow to sit in my new 2 person stand

I saw a nice 6 point and one big doe there last Saturday. She doesn't have her doe tag or muzzleloader stamp but she'll bring a camera and take lots of pictures

If we don't find her a buck in rifle season we'll probably get a muzzleloader stamp for late season and see if we can fill her tag then.

gotta agree with Montell almost all those shows anymore are on "Ranches" where a 7 year old could shoot a big buck by accident, kinda sickens me actually...

i havent hunted in years, it's like the woods turn orange and theres no where for me to go...

i like going into the woods during early fall late spring when no one is hunting and enjoy the time .

my son shows minimal interest in hunting but he enjoys our walks on the Appalachian Trail and through some thick woods.... i believe to start getting into shape a bit this year i will go intot he woods with my axe and start chopping on some fallen tree's .. somethign i did when i was young and didnt knwo what to do with my anger..

Angry Re: T.V. Hunting shows are really pissing my off

what pisses me off is i was watching this hunting show and this guy took his daughters out and let his 11 year old shoot. She had to shoot this buck 4 times before she killed it.If you are takeing your kids out, they should know how to shoot not let the buck suffer. It would be like takeing your knife out and stabbing it to death. If you are going to play a hunter,do the job right.Dont get me wrong theres alot of kids who do know how to shoot,go get em but the ones who dont, daddy practice with them first then take them. Also,i was watching this one where a woman was target practiceing on a woodchuck what kind of bull is this? If you're not there to eat it leave it alone

Check out Gun It with Benny Spies, it's on the VS channel Fridays @9pm.

I just found this channel, along with this show, buried below the porn channels on DirecTV, channel 603.

This guy is a younger guy, probably late 20's/early 30's and the show is a 3 man deal, Benny and his 2 camera men roam around in an old '73 Winnebago.

No product infomercial crap on this show. Low budget all the way.

The last one watched was him hunting whitetail on a golf course in South Dakota. He didn't get a deer so him as his crew put on polo shirts over their insulated hunting gear and played a round of golf in the snow @ 7 degrees.
He usually picks up locals/friends and they go out hunting.
Prairie Dogs w/AR15's, ducks on a river in -10 weather, goose hunting from an underground blind, Ringnecks while road hunting (all legal) in North Dakota or some state close to that.
He uses a Bull horn, they bet on who is going to buy the first round of beers that night and the show is truly comical, reminds me of real guy shit when we get out in the woods.

Not a serious hunting show, but I love it, it's the only hunting show I actually will sit down and watch.

I actually enjoy watching them miss. What I don't like is seeing them think they miss and not even bother to track them to make sure they missed. It teaches a very unrealistic situation to inexperenced hunters, if the deer runs they think they missed. I've dragged home more than a couple deer to surrounding camps that don't bother to make sure they missed. I have only ever shot one deer sitting and it was my first deer. Since then I still hunt and don't see many deer standing still. I've shot more deer running than I care to admit but have tracked every deer I've pulled the trigger on. Deer hunting is a sport not a profession. They make it look too easy to be realistic for Pa. white tails. I may be looked down on shooting a running deer but I have been very successful not waiting for a storybook shot. I usually shoot the first legal deer I see. I have yet to taste a good bowl of antler soup.

These guys you see on tv are not hunters. They are guys with access to private lands where they can grow feed plots and manage the deer herds. A 2 year old could get a buck on their property. I'd like to see one of these guys do a film on hunting pa gamelands. Guess what there wouldn't be a show because they would give up after the first day.

Yes it can get frustrating after a while, watching them bag buck after buck. I like the drury's because they own/lease the properties they hunt on, can't bitch about hunting your own land and shooting a big buck. It rates about 80% their own land in their videos thats why I like them.

I wouldn't doubt that there propertys are high fenced just like alot of the other propertys. It's kind of like shooting fish in a barrel.

As far as I can see they are not high fence hunting yes anything can be faked on camera. They show themselves driving to there hunting spots, also they have a series called 100% fair chase. They also show themselves driving the property checking their own cameras, scaping the land for food plots, and show the food plots. Also if you follow their series you might see them hunting the same area they hunted in previous hunts. Waddell, Realtree,Bushmen I think hunt pretty much all guided hunts. One other thing I like him but isn't it weird how Shockey just walks up to the animals and shoots huge things. It is just peculiar to me.
