    I don’t understand people who do not have “security” type screen doors that prevent this kind of thing.

    You don't understand about 99% of people then, because outside of high-crime areas, it's pretty rare to see them.
    Some people don't like the "prison" look.
    Most people don't feel the need.

    I regret not going that route when we had our wind damaged storm door replaced, but I'm not even sure it could have been properly installed.
    We had to have custom fitting done because the original door/frame/etc was non-standard.
    It would be nice to be able to leave the main door open when it's nice outside and not have to lock up just to run upstairs, or take the dogs out back for a minute.

    When I see doors like that I wonder why anyone would want to live where you need a door like that.
