The Game Commissioner in the article states "And because there are some genetic issues with it, removing it from the population would only benefit the health of our overall population".

never know, that one might be the anomaly that has superior resistances to various diseases.
that's the problem with playing god with genetics and eugenics.
make sure they're all identical and you breed weakness.

i've nothing against shooting one, i'd love a pelt like that on the wall. but personally just don't think i could.

I wish they would open seasons on the Chantix turkey and that @#$%^&ing emu.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I say this as a hunter myself, but if hunting were some artificial Darwinism to remove the weakest from the herd, why do many hunters harvest the large bucks with the biggest racks? Wouldn’t they be the ones we should leave to reproduce?

The PGC is just making that PR statement so the mamby pamby people who think meat magically appears at their grocery store don’t incessently call them about “protecting” this freakazoid white splotchy deer.

The one this guy got was behind the Swamp Church. That's not too far from there.

There's also some stubby-legged deer that I've only seen on the South Mt/Limeport/Chestnut Hill area spine hills. They're fairly steep, but don't really qualify as mountains. Never in the valleys though. I don't hunt that area, but I saw four or five them when I was driving.

They are otherwise normal deer but they had 3/4-5/8 length legs. Two times were when I was stopped, and they were just standing there on the side of the road staring at me. It was kind of creepy.

They only come out at night...
