The correct pin is hardened and it is exactly the right size, not just the diameter and strength but also the loop in the end fits in the hole correctly and the pin is sprung open so it stays in the hole. I wouldn't use anything other then the correct pin.
Just buy a few of them and other parts and keep them in a parts bin so you have extras of everything. You will be happy you have a extra parts bin on more then one occasion.
I have two extra lower, upper and bolt parts kits, so I have extra springs, front sights, pins, grip screws, hammers and triggers. I have used a lot of pieces over the years.Last edited by :-); October 28th, 2019 at 12:52 PM.
