There is no 300 WM ammo that's suitable for HD unless your worried about a buffalo or Grizzly bear breaking in. He might as well use what ever he has on hand or any soft point.

No excuse when you can get a Maverick 88 shotgun for $200, an AR in 5.56 for $450 or a pretty good 9mm autoloader with a rail for a light for $250...

If it was my only choice I would look for the lightest ballistic tip bullets I could find. I think it would only shoot through 1 or 2 houses instead of 3 or 4.

Hey Fingers, if she is a friend as you say, go and buy her a decent handgun. What hand will she use to hold the flash light? What power will the scope be set on if it’s night time break in? If you can’t buy her a gun, buy her a baseball bat.

Make sure he keeps some foam earplugs and another pair of the earmuff style taped to the rifle barrel. He would need to use BOTH if shooting indoors.

A pump 12ga is the cheapest reliable option. And it is the most devastating of all options at indoor distances.
