They didn't say where they found him or if they recovered the rifle.

I showed my girlfriend this story yesterday and she said, and I quote, "Japanese. He's dead."
I'm sure that has some mysterious meaning to her, but to me I was just like, "What...?"

It's a shame, much too young.
RIP, and prayers to his family.

Japanese commit a lot of suicide. Its an honorable way to die and stuff like that.

So far all I've seen is that he was found on campus, but no word on cause of death or the weapon.

And I know exactly what your girlfriend meant. There's tremendous pressure on Japanese kids to succeed, be it in academics, athletics or socially. Not succeeding brings dishonor to the family so children and young adults would rather die in a way which they consider honorable by taking their own lives rather than bring shame upon their families.
You are a straight white man. You don't get to be the victim, sweetie.

I find it ironic that suicide is an honorable death in Japan but the dumbocrats want to take our guns away so some can't use them to kill themselves here.
