Bottom line... that was a stupid thing to say. Nevertheless, LE should just interview the guy, tell him to stop saying stupid shit and then send him on his way.

    Funny story:
Young guy I worked with YEARS ago tells of sitting in the airport in Miami.
Delay after delay, everyone is getting pissed, children crying, generally everyone is getting on each other's nerves.
He says that some guy starts speaking loudly - complaining - and asks the crowd "Where's this plane GOING, anyway?"
My friend snaps, jumps onto his chair and shouts at the guy, "THIS PLANE'S GOING TO CUBA!"

They didn't make their plane. He and his mom were taken to the back rooms and interrogated before being let go.
I don’t agree with it. But, it’s the new normal. So, go ahead and say “stupid shit” and get arrested.

He wasn't arrested, he was fired and had his guns confiscated with zero due process.
If he was arrested and taken before a judge for due process it would still be bad, but at least he would not have his Civil Rights stripped from him arbitrarily based on rumor and supposition.

I’m on your side Bern... just saying that you can’t say the same shit today like we all said 20+ years ago and expect no repercussions. Don’t be stupid, shut your pie hole.

    Yeah, I hear you.
The older we get the more we talk as we did in bygone eras.

But having said that, the Red Flag climate is the worst infringement on individual liberty I have seen in America during my lifetime.
Nothing short of sweeping aside the Bill of Rights in favor of totalitarian Fascism, which incidentally, has historically always been done in the name of public safety.

The guy was voicing his concern over another employee shirking his duties. I guess that gets you red flagged or arrested if you expose a douchebag that isn't doing the job he's being paid to do, especially if it's the Chief's buddy who got him the job to begin with. Corruption is rampant and red flag laws are making it much worse. The same thing happened to that kid in NJ when he voiced his concern that the school was a ripe target and he was overheard about being quite concerned. People just plain have no sense whatsoever in this day and age. That Chief, the waitress and any other person involved in taking this man's rights away for voicing his concern should be fired and publicly shamed. Bring back the stocks.

The Red Flag laws are specially tailored to restrict freedom of speech and cause distrust among the citizenry.

My wife and I were on a flight back to PA on Thursday and we were discussing the sudden severe weather that was affecting travel on the east coast. I had to stop myself from saying "bomb cyclone" and instead just said "cyclone" out of fear that someone might overhear and overreact.
