Default Stainless Steel Kitchen Cleaner Safe for Guns?

This is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyways. My mom has stainless steel appliances. She has an aerosol can stainless steel cleaner (that says it also works great on nickel and chrome products too). Can I use this on my chrome and stainless handguns? My plan was to use the cleaner on my firearms (obviously not in the bore, but primarily on the slide and frame), then apply a light coating of Break Free CLP on the firearm. This (Magic Stainless Steel Cleaner) is the cleaner.

I would stick with products made for cleaning guns.

Would you use Windex to clean the wheels on your car/truck?

No, but I have used Windex to clean the windows on my truck, lol. I understand what you are saying. I'll do more research before I try to using it. Thank you.

Actually I do use mag wheel cleaner on my stainless grill. Removes all scorch marks and actually leaves a bit of a protective film which prevents more dirt... but would not used on a pistola....

Doesn't a bit of that protective film get buried in your next burgers ?

i believe the stainless finish on appliances is different than the stainless steel finish on firearms so i wouldn't risk it. cleaning products for guns are not really all that expensive so why not use products designed for cleaning/polishing firearms rather than risk screwing up your guns finish with some product designed to clean appliances? flitz is a good product to use to polish stainless steel.

Guns are an entirely different grade of stainless. I would not recommend using the product you are talking about to clean guns.

I tried flitz; not bad at all. It takes a bit more elbow grease for me than mag polish, but...
