I'd rather take my chances with going out the nearest exit muy rapido!. A shooter on the inside can't cover every exit.

Running/creating space between yourself and the threat is usually the best option and also why it is listed first in the run, hide, fight internal threat construct. However, what if there are multiple shooters and stairways/exits are covered? (rhetorical)

My point is, the choice/action you take is based on the information received. And an active shooter situation is fluid and changes by the minute.

Totally agree but in this situation they announce that this is a fire drill or a RHF drill beforehand. If they simply came over the loud speaker and said there is a shooter in the building I would haul ass out of there as fast as possible and get in my car and leave.

Your physical security team would be idiots if they broadcast that over a loud speaker. Security teams who know what the fuck they are doing use ENS to alert employees of an active shooter... for drills as well when practicing.

Active shooters also know to pull fire alarms and wait for the sheeple to evacuate, so it*s easier to shoot them as they run out the door.

We have color codes for all types of emergencies, which we have a key for on the back of our name badges.

Our safety committee met a few years ago and added a code for active shooter and I suggested calling it "Code Black." I can't believe the liberals actually approved that and didn't call me a racist.
