Re: Dunkelbergers doing PICS checks for black powder guns?
I can't believe there are people on this forum who would stick up for them running PICS checks for the purchase of cap guns and Swiss Army knives.
Am I stretching it a bit? Maybe - but tell me, which one of these items requires a PICS check?
Glock G19
Black powder revolver
BB gun/Pellet rifle
Cap gun
Swiss Army knife
Crossbow
Lighter fluid
Matches
Slingshot
Bubble gum
I guess running a PICS check for lighter fluid and crossbows and such is "A-OK" since they are just "covering their asses"?
This is absurd.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Dunkelbergers doing PICS checks for black powder guns?
It is illegal, on PA and Federal levels, to (knowingly) use the PICS/NICS systems for anything other than firearm transfers or clearing folks for purchase/carry permits.
A BP firearm is not a "firearm" under federal law. ...except some models that can be interchanged with real "firearm" barrels. Example: Some Thompson/Center models, H&R Huntsman, etc. Or, if a Remington 1858 has been converted to use fixed cartridges - then it becomes a firearm(unless made AND converted before 1898).RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Re: Dunkelbergers doing PICS checks for black powder guns?
It is called breaking state and federal law if they are knowingly doing it incorrectly. The PICS and NICS systems are only allow to be used for firearm transfers or purchase/carry permits.
An "Antique Firearm" is not a firearm(certain exceptions for certain situations). A Rem 1858 is not a firearm unless it was converted to a cartridge gun after 1898.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
