i think im going to start calling her "middle ground brown"
or "blue rose mary" since she has been hanging pretty moderate at least lately.
never willing to stand up for rights, just silently hang back and vote however is needed to keep the seat.

What You Need to Know About Marsy’s Law

After receiving several questions concerning Marsy’s Law, I wanted to provide you some additional information on the current state of the constitutional amendment.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, Commonwealth Court Judge Ellen Ceisler issued an injunction prohibiting the certification of votes on the Marsy’s Law referendum on Tuesday’s election ballot. Judge Ceisler’s ruling determined that, while the question concerning the public’s support or opposition of Marsy’s Law will still be on the election ballot, all votes for or against this question will be held until all legal appeals are exhausted in the future. This ruling has been appealed to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Our Legislature has worked tirelessly for four years conducting meetings and hearings; listening to testimony after testimony from victims who have suffered horrible tragedies as well as hearing from those who oppose the amendment; and addressing all issues and concerns to perfect the legislation ensuring that it was fair across the board.

The question reads as follows: “Shall the Pennsylvania Constitution be amended to grant certain rights to crime victims, including to be treated with fairness, respect and dignity; considering their safety in bail proceedings; timely notice and opportunity to take part in public proceedings; reasonable protection from the accused; right to refuse discovery requests made by the accused; restitution and return of property; proceedings free from delay; and to be informed of these rights, so they can enforce them?”

Marsy’s Law would change the state Constitution and ensure crime victims receive information about their rights; receive notification of proceedings in their criminal cases; be present at court hearings; be heard at plea and sentencing proceedings; and be treated with fairness, respect and dignity.

Under current law, the Crime Victims Act includes a crime victims’ “bill of rights,” which includes many of the same rights as the proposed constitutional amendment. Should Marsy’s Law be implemented, it would elevate these rights to a constitutional level and allow victims to assert those rights in court and have standing.

Dumbest thing I've read today, "I was 100% against this until I saw that the ACLU was against it, now I'm 100% for it and voted that way."

Thanks for posting that. If you didn't I might have just skipped over it.

    Voted NO.

Voted no on ballot, I wonder if that's how it was counted.

Well, the ACLU has historically been pretty much...

Well, you aren't stupid - it really isn't that shocking that someone would not want to align themselves with someone they view as "the enemy".

You could pretty much replace "ACLU" with "democrats" and get the same response.

This goes to why, in another thread, I said that people are generally too stupid to vote.
