    Crime Victims Rights Question

    https://www.electionreturns.pa.gov/

    Votes:

    Yes: 1,696,299 (73.84%)

    No: 601,001 (26.16%)

Scary thought: Of those who voted yesterday, nearly 3-to-1 have no conception of constitutionally-protected rights and the importance of the presumption of innocence and of the right to confront the evidence and the witnesses against oneself.
Actually, it is likely more than 90% of the yes votes did not read and understand that the amendment restricted those rights. It was just a victim protection law, right?
A clear win for the big money propagandists, which is the scary part.

That's an excellent point, although I am less sanguine than you are on your percentage gauge of the electorate's understanding.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my wife had voted 'No'. We had not discussed it prior to voting, as I try not to influence her vote.

On something this shady and potentially dangerous, it absolutely should be discussed...and influencing others is important.

So almost a quarter of voting Pennsylvanians understood the truth about Marsy's law, despite zero commercials explaining it, and a flood of pro-amendment propaganda from sobbing victim women and Kelsey Grammer (who I believe meant well, but that's what paves the road to Hell.) At least we got that.

Tell all those folks who voted YES that if their son or husband or brother is arrested based on false rape allegations, they just made it easier for the DA to convict an innocent man. If a woman is falsely charged with embezzling from her crooked employer, neither she nor her attorney can dig into the truth before trial, because the "victim" can hide his own crimes behind Marsy's law.

hopefully when we finally go no-power mad max, 73% of the state's voting population is eaten by the 'yotes.
