Default My Custom Built Bench Rifle.

Certainly not the most difficult I’ve done, but I am proud of this one. I built this myself, after stripping & “Home Blueprinting” a Savage 10 Action. I had older pics, but recently I machined the new buttstock. My design.

Uses an AR buffer tube. I cut to desired length and had to machine & press in a new mounting lug.

Then I made a new end, & machined slots so it can can’t side to side. The plate to the right is from the old stock I was using.

Used 2024 Billet for the carrier plate of the stock. This pic is after rough machining & marking the attachment points.

Finally, finished, added the spacers and made a Kydex cheer rest. And the entire rifle. Also with new scope, trigger, etc.

Sweet set up. I like the design of the buttstock...looks super light too.

Yeah, I should have taken more pics. These few just show the basic machining I did to make the individual parts. I started with a stock that already used the buffer tube & the rear plate with the grooves. (The original shoulder rest). But I had to cut the buffer tube and fab that new piece with threaded hole.

Thank you for the kind words my friends.

Just out of curiosity, considering your expertise, time, and materials - what do you think it should sell for if it was ever to be offered???

Are you referring to the stock, or the whole rifle?

    That looks awesome, great work.

I almost like it better unfinished though.

Does the weight of the stock aid with recoil?
