Default Another Gun in a Box - AR15 Pistol Build

I finally took the plunge - for a while now I've been buying parts to build an AR15 pistol.
As of yesterday, I have all the parts needed for assembly, and most of what I want in terms of parts upgrades.

    Behold the gun-in-a-box!

The tips, advice, and suggestions found in this thread as I tried to determine what to build, and how to best go about it were much appreciated.
Thank you to those who pitched in.

I'll be getting some assistance next week in assembling the barrel to the upper since I don't have the tools for that portion. The rest of it I can assemble on my own using fire, large rocks/hammers, and duct tape.

Can't wait to see it completed!

I'll post a parts list too for those who may be interested.

Very happy to see it coming together!
Your other thread inspired me to get started in the pursuit of an ar pistol.....actually that and a sbr.

Congrats on getting the parts together for your build, sincerely looking forward to seeing it and a range report.

I made my first barrel nut wrench with a hack saw, hand drill and file. I used rivets for the pins.

I have an Upper Vise Block and barrel nut wrench you can borrow if needed if that would help... think I'm all out of Duct Tape

Yeah, I got creative with "tools" to build the lower. The only tool I bought was a ten dollar combo wrench thingy that was used to tighten the castle nut.
Punches? We don't need no steenking punches! (I used small screwdrivers or nails)

Thanks, but I'm good. Gonna have our resident AR nut put the barrel on next week.
I'll try and have the lower assembled by then as well so I can then slap it all together.

I could have been ready to build sooner, but I wanted to buy some upgraded parts before assembling. No sense using a basic trigger guard only to have to take it off once the upgraded one arrives. Trigger guard, extended mag release, and trigger group were the main things I wanted to install during assembly rather than swapping them out later. The only other things I will change later are the charging handle and grip - those are easy to swap at any time.

Upper is assembled. Too dark for photos but let me just say "Hubba Hubba".

Until I get some pics up, here's the hand guard I have on it.
    Aero Quantum 7" M'Lok

Super-nice rail at a really, really reasonable price. I think these are going to start selling like mad as word spreads.
I love that the screws are countersunk and sit flush rather than having the heads exposed like many other brands.

Gotta get this all together soon!

Im in search of a 10.5" barrel for mine. After that, pistol receiver extension and my 80% pistol build is complete! What did you pay for the forward assist and the dustcover (springs, rod etc) if you dont mind my asking? You should have seen the intro price that AP was charging for the Mlock rails.....

It's a "Sport" upper - it doesn't have a forward assist or dust cover.

    Noice!

We got in some stripped Anderson uppers which needed the FA and dustcover. Could have saved myself $30 otherwise......
