    What type of firearm are you talking about. Not sure if I can help, but more info would be useful.

    Well I have a couple. Shotgun 12 Gauge issues with the pump. Also have a derringer pistol that is not firing. Almost like the firing pin is not long enough!

    Is there ammo in it? I know, it's stupid, kind of like when the toaster won't work and the first thing they ask is, "Is it plugged in?".

    Broken or soft firing pin maybe?
