    Default NEW: Springfield Armory Hellcat

    .

Direct competitor to the sig 365

Meet the Hellcat, the highest capacity micro-compact available, new from Springfield Armory.

Available in a standard or optics-ready (OSP) configuration that come with both an 11+1 magazine and a 13+1 extended mag.

Gun Talk's Ryan Gresham shows off the different features of the Hellcat, and then meets Kevin "KJ" Jarnagin at the range to compare it with Sig Sauer's P365. #Hellcat

They just cannot get away from that giant bore axis can they?

I am sure their Croatian made wonder will put an end to Sig Saur once and for all just like their imitation P238 did the dreaded 911.

Doesn't look any higher than Sig.

The capacity wars with small nines are interesting, but I'm done with new pistols for quite a while. I've decided there's no reason to look at a P365 or the Hellcat when I can stuff a reload that's anywhere from 10-33 rounds into a Glock 26 (favorite right now is the 27 round PMAG, fits in my multi tool holster perfectly). If I need to conceal more than the G26 allows, my G43 or an S&W J frame does that just fine, and with a reload mag or speed loader I still have some measure of ammo reassurance.

In my opinion Sig has the name and the reputation that is required to get people away from their usual preferred concealed carry and get them into something else like the P365. This is a hard thing to do considering the investments we make into gear as well as brand loyalty, especially when the proven track record there is with other companies like Glock and S&W.

I just don't believe SF like Mossberg has the kind of juice to pull anyone away from their current carry piece in large numbers unless it's an XD. They will probably pick up some new comers here and their, but I can tell you that a lot of the bigger name and trusted firearms channels most likely will not be paying this any attention at all due to SF anti gun antics a few years back.

I personally do not think any current carry 9mm on the market can come even close to putting a dent in the numbers that S&W has shipped and sold with the Shield including Glock and Sig. As of this past June they have sold 3 million of them.

Oh, great. Just what the market was missing, a plastic framed, striker fired, staple gun trigger pistol.

S&W definitely has the market share on small carry guns. Every boomer loves a J frame (including my dad) and the Shield was the best gun in the small 9mm category for years. It worked out so well for them that they didn't bother with a subcompact double stack when the M&P 2.0 came out.

Mossberg is kind of hosed on their little 9, when you can get Shields for $250.

I went Glock for my micro 9 because it's what I'm used to. I own a first gen 9c, but rarely shoot it and never carry it. I think about listing it for sale about every other week, but I think its best held onto as trade fodder. The 43 also fits in my pocket better than the Shield. Pocket carry is the best simple way to deep conceal IMO.

I don't know, they look pretty snappy. Did they beat on the Springfield with a hammer yet?

That's the first thing I thought...

After the whole P365 debacle I think I'll just wait awhile to make any real judgements. But on first look, the P365 is way sleeker than this in my opinion.
