.45 LC from a .410 shotgun
I recently picked up a H&R .410 Tamer shotgun. I've shot some rifled slugs out of it and it doesn't shoot them too horribly. I believe that I can also shoot .45LC from it as well.
Is this really worth it? How accurate would it really be? Which would be better between .45LC and .410 slugs?
I'm also thinking of getting a .410 to .22 LR adapter and was wondering if they were worth the money also.Sed ego sum homo indomitus

Oh, there are a bunch of things that you can shoot out of a .410, but unless its specifically marked .45lc/.410 it might not be the best of ideas. As for the .22 adapters really depends on why you want one, they work but you're basically going to be getting the power of a .22 pocket pistol.

Re: .45 LC from a .410 shotgun
These guns running both 410 shells and 45 colt loads are barreled for the 45 colt ..... your particular shotgun has a bore for the .410
so no I would not.
.410 in the proper 45 colt gun ... yes
but not vice versa.
Get yourself a 20ga barrel and you can get an adapter to shoot 410 and 45 colt from that ........
I happen to have that particular adapter .....I got it for the 410 function and not so much the 45 colt aspect.
it is what it is.
FWIW I think NEF has a gun to fire both 410.45 colt ... the survivor series perhaps????Last edited by Boondox; September 21st, 2019 at 09:03 PM.

Re: .45 LC from a .410 shotgun
DO NOT DO IT!
The H&R .410 Tamer is just that, a .410. ...which means it has a .410" bore, then likely even smaller at the choke.
Guns that shoot .45Colt are .450" bore, .452-.454" groove.
Guns that are chambered in .45Colt/.410 are actually just .45Colt guns with longer chambers to accommodate the longer .410 shells. It just so happens that the .45Colt cartridge and the .410 shell have similar cartridge/shell diameters.
Shoving a .45 caliber bullet down a milder steel shotgun barrel with a .410" bore will likely give undesirable results.
H&R did make some .45/.410 guns, rifled barrel but they had a screw-in choke. Re: .45 LC from a .410 shotgun
Thanks, y'all. That's answers that I can live with.
I presume that I can still shoot .410 rifled slugs since they should be .41" and not .45" .
And I'm looking at a .22 adapter for it.Sed ego sum homo indomitus

What's your opinion of the Tamer so far? I have a desire to own one, although I don't have a real need for it.
