Re: Henry caliber question
Got the carbine out to the range today , it’s a hoot to shoot . .44 special feels like a 223 and the .44 mags kick less than a 30-30 . Accurate with iron sights at 50 yards. Definitely deer deadly . Action is butter smooth and cycled without issue shooting .44 special 180 gr. .44 special 240 gr. .44 mag 180 gr. and .44 mag 240 gr.
I highly recommend this for a fun range gun and a camp gun. It will do fine in the PA deer woods ,I may put a Skinner peep sight on it but I am going to stay away from any other optics .
I only had a hour or so today but I want to get this out for a longer time and really put some lead down range .Fortuna audaces iuvat

Re: Henry caliber question
How heavy are those Henry big boys? I picked up one of those 22 hex barrels and immediately handed it back to the clerk years ago.
That said, Henry is an awesome company to deal with if you ever have a problem.

Yes the stock Buckhorn sights suck, especially to older eyes, get these, put them on my Big Boy 41 Magnum, unbelievable improvement

No deer in the fridge but the red dot was nice to see in the field ...had one popped out I would have no reservations with my shot ...
